Wayne Terhune works out of his wood working studio in the hills near Wheatland, Missouri. He has been a full time wood turner for the past 20 years, what began has a hobby making bowls for his neighbour soon became his passion. When working on the lathe Wayne enjoys the smell, touch and visual sensations of creating unique works from a humble piece of wood. He works with each piece of wood to expose the perfect form and function, being led by each piece's attributes and flaws. He enjoys working with the limitations of each piece of wood, and it is this knowledge that makes his pieces so unique. Much of the wood Wayne works with is reclaimed and sourced locally. It ranges from Walnut, Pear, Mulberry, Spalted Maple, Hedge, Juniper and Hackberry. He is particularly well know for his wonderful walnut bowls with natural bark rims, they make a perfect salad or fruit bowl.

Wayne has received many awards for his work and proudly displays 35 ribbons in his studio. We are honored to be Wayne’s primary gallery and we hope you enjoy his work as much as we do.
